It's referer, not referrer.
This morning I noticed John Gruber had posted once again to Daring Fireball and was reminded that all humanity should donate to keep him writing. How could you not with this wonderful specimen as reward? Some of the most insightful and interesting articles I’ve read anywhere on the web of late have come direct from him, of which this list is a small sampling:
Imagine my surprise when, while reading today’s article, I come across my own website in his link list for June 26, 2004. What the…??? I was surprised because this site has been “live” in only the loosest sense of the word for the past week as I polished the design. Apparently it was “live” enough, as Daring Fireball’s recent link to this site indicates, for his website keeps prominent track of article referrers .
On that note, I still find it humorous that the misspelling “referer” rather than “referrer” made it into the HTTP lexicon when the original standard was created (early 90’s perhaps?).

Congrats on the launch. It looks great. And to be linked from Fireball! Nicely Done.
Keep up the good work and I’ll start stealing ideas from your site any day now
