Here is an effective yet annoying method to get me to register a new account on a site:

1. Lure me into starting an IQ test online.
2. Start with easy-enough questions that convince me that I am about to score the highest IQ EVER. (Take that, Marilyn vos Savant!)
3. Make me think that my marvelous IQ is just around the corner after every set of five questions.
4. Get me to invest 20-30 minutes taking said test.
5. And then spring a “You must now register to see your IQ test results” form on me.

*Sigh*

Of course, I should have seen it coming, but it’s a remarkably effective motivational tool to convince me to register on a site. And besides, I got my extra special certificate of intellectual achievement.
