I figured out my job.
Apr 18 2005
I brought my three-year-old daughter Caryse to my office Saturday afternoon. I promised her she could play her online games at nickjr.com (she loves Dora the Explorer, Backyardigans, etc.) once I had finished. She has been obsessed with the concept of work and jobs the last few weeks, so she was excited to be at "Daddy's work." While in the hallway, anxious to play on my computer, she initiated the following conversation:
Caryse: Daddy?
Me: Yes?
Caryse: I've figured out my job.
Me: What's that?
Caryse: I click stuff!
I laughed, of course. A half hour later, the reality of her insight struck me.
