Braille Menus Available.
May 19 2005
Dan informed me that http://ad.hominem.org can potentially be filtered by the adblock extension for Firefox. Apparently the ad in ad.hominem.org causes problems when “site blocking” is turned on for that extension, especially with this puritan version of adblock.
Ruh-roh.
I’m extremely reluctant to tweak anything domain related, as what little Google Capital I do have is invested entirely in http://ad.hominem.org. So (though this sounds like one of those restaurant signs that reads “Braille Menus Available”) if for some reason you can’t reach this site, just turn “Site Blocking” to off in your AdBlock extension.

Greets!
You are correct that Adblock (standard) will likely block all content from “ad.hominem.org” when the user has configured a simple filter for “ad” and selected “site blocking”. However, most Adblock users find that “site blocking” is over the top and causes unexpected problems. Additionally, the most popular filterset (Filterset.G) tries to avoid blocking URLs that have a subdomain “ad” - instead looking for more specific ad servers.
The “Puritan” version of Adblock that you refer to on my site is actually the opposite - a version that allows whitelisting. This means that if someone has created their own filterset that is excluding “ad.hominem.org” content, they can easily add a whitelist entry that says “allow all content from ad.hominem.org” (it would be “@@ad.hominem.org”), without worrying that this will allow content from other “ad” subdomains.
I hope that this helps!
